Major projects

The London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games took place on sites within London and the UK. We have chosen to highlight some of the largest projects which will leave a lasting legacy after the London 2012 Games.  National Lottery funding has contributed to the funding of these featured projects.

In addition, the Olympic Village was the home to some 17,000 athletes and officials during the Olympic Games and over 6,000 people during the Paralympic Games. After the Games, the Village will become part of the regeneration of Stratford City which will, it is envisaged, create over 4,000 new homes, a new shopping centre, leisure facilities and office accommodation. The International Broadcast Centre and Main Press Centre is in the north west of the Olympic Park.

Projects featured on this website include the Cultural Olympiad, Live Sites Screens and Community grants, all of which have received National Lottery funding through the Olympic Lottery Distributor.
