Represent London

Represent London is a three year training and volunteering project for young people in the Olympic Host Boroughs of Greenwich, Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest.  The East London Business Alliance (ELBA) will work with over 600 young people from over 25 schools.  Participants attend a series of modules on a variety of subjects (Customer Service, Health and Safety, Leadership) delivered by public and private sector organisations. The National Lottery is, through the Olympic Lottery Distributor, contributing £488,508.23 to this project.

The skills that young people develop will not only increase their employability prospects but also support them to fulfil volunteering roles. During the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Represent London students worked as London Ambassadors on a National Lottery funded volunteer pod in Spitalfields and volunteered as Field of Play attendants at the London 2012 Olympics Beach Volleyball competition.

End of year (2010/11) 'Creativity Quests'  were held for Represent London students.  To see video extracts of these events from the five Boroughs, please click on the link.
