The Aquatics Centre

The Aquatics Centre is situated in the south east corner of the Olympic Park.  During the London 2012 Games the Aquatics Centre was the venue for Diving, Swimming, Synchronised Swimming, Paralympic Swimming and the Modern Pentathlon.  It has a capacity of 17,500.

The Aquatics Centre was designed by internationally acclaimed architect Zaha Hadid and has a spectacular wave like roof which is 160m long and up to 80m wide.

The Centre contains a 50m competition pool, a 25m diving pool, a 50m warm up pool and a 'dry' warm up area for divers.

In legacy the Aquatics Centre will become a facility for the local community, clubs and schools as well as elite swimmers and it will have a creche, family friendly changing facilities and a cafe.
